National Powerboat Course & VHF SRC Radio Course [Package]

THE PERFECT STARTER PACKAGE

Designed for people with previous experience or returning to boating who are starting their own adventure, taking charge of a vessel, the National powerboat certificate is the foundation of the powerboat scheme, which allows you to take responsibility as helm of a craft. It can, in some cases, bring down insurance, and if you are looking towards Marinas, they will be looking towards your Insurance ;-)

The National Powerboat Certificate can also be used to apply for an ICC through Irish Sailing, should you wish to charter your own vessel abroad.

To close up this fantastic starter package is a second weekend of training towards your VHF SRC radio licence, which is required to register your ship's radio for an MMSI number and call sign. Irish law states that radio operators in Ireland must hold a Certificate of Competence,

All that aside, the VHF will save your life in the unlikely case of a distress situation, provided you have been trained and understand how these systems work.

This is the perfect starter package for anyone looking to get back into powerboating.

We’re a small business, booking staff as our course bookings allow. Our course fees pay for insurance, regulatory compliance, rates, rents, fuel and all the typical outgoings a business such as ours encounters. As such, late cancellations can leave us with unviable courses. Our mantra has always been to make powerboating accessible, and the courses are priced as such to be as low cost as possible. We do not include a buffer in course fees for late notice cancellations. As such, our cancellation policy is as follows:

More than 2 weeks prior to course commencement date

The deposit tendered, 50% of course fees, is non-refundable. Any balance above 50% of course fees paid by the customer will be returned.

Cancellation within 2 weeks of course commencement date

The entire fee tendered is forfeited.

Non-attendance or leaving course early.

The entire fee tendered is forfeited.

Atlantic Marine Training reserves the right to cancel any booking at any time without prior notice where we believe on reasonable grounds that this is necessary due to unsuitable conditions. Cancelling a booking should not be confused with the need to reschedule a sailing lesson due to weather. Where a lesson is rescheduled, this does not count as a cancellation. Non-attendance at a course or leaving during a course will result in the entire fee tendered being forfeited.
